Jen and Sam

VerNon, Bernice and Son Randall are here on the Mesa, Arizona, temple grounds after Randall's daughter, Jennifer and husband, Sam were sealed in the temple. This happened on January 12, 2008.

Randall at the left with Jillayne and Chris in front of the whale skeleton at CEDO in Rocky Point, Mexico. CEDO stands for Educational Center of Desert and Ocean. There was no one there to give us a lecture but we enjoyed looking around. This wasn't far from our motel.

Darlene and Linda are enjoying a visit at Rachel and Steve's place where we had an enchilada dinner before leaving for Mexico on December 27, 2007. Guess who prepared the enchiladas.

Catharina, Robert, Trent, Soleil, Chaya, Ammon and Rex are getting ready to enjoy a fish dinner down at the water front in Rocky Point, Mexico, the night of December 27, 2007. We all went there after we had gotten settled in the Playa Inn Motel. We had some entertainment while we ate and lined up a singer named Pedro for our party the next night.

Brent and Charlotte's son, Michael, flew from Illinois to Mesa the day after Christmas. We hadn't seen him for the two years he served a mission in Canada. While there he served in areas of English, French and Spanish. He does quite well in both French and Spanish. It was great to have him here with us for a week. His cousins occupied most of his time but we did have a chance to visit a little the day before he returned to Illinios. Chad's wife, Joejo, is relaxing against the wall to the right of the picture.

Debra and Kent enjoyed a walk on the beach at Rocky Point, Mexico, on December 28,2007. They spent Christmas with us in Mesa and stayed a few days after we returned from Mexico.

Even though it was cold outside, a large number found occasion to get into the hot tub at the Playa Inn Motel in Rocky Point, Mexico. Most of them belong to Brenda and Robert's family. Starting at the left we see Rex and Chaya, Julie and Carl along with Trent and Soleil. There were some girls from another family also in the pool. It doesn't look like there was much room for any more people.

Here we have a picture of Brent and Charlotte's oldest daughter, Amie with her husband, Josh Clayton and their five children, Connor, Zachary, Joshua, Eloise and David. They drove all the way from Utah to go with us to Mexico on December 27, 2007. We really enjoyed having them with us.

This picture shows Sam Western holding little Max Gannon while Jennifer Bingham tries to get Jack Gannon to stop covering his face. The children belong to Rachel and Steve Gannon. Jennifer and Sam will be sealled for time and all eternity tomorrow, January 12, 2008, in the Mesa, Arizona, Temple. This is a marvelous occassion and we welcome Samuel David Western into our family.

Tiffany Hamilton and her fiancee, Fred Schappe, were with us during the Christmas holidays. They are putting a puzzel together for us. It is an actual building that came as a bunch of small pieces. Tiffany and Fred live in Galveston, Texas. They are getting married January 17, 2008. Tiffany is the daughter of our son-in-law, Kent Hamilton.

David and Sarah Jones were here with us in Mesa for a week at Christmas time. David is Debra's son. He married Sarah Sacuto who is one of our wonderful adopted granddaughters. They met in Canada while David was attending the university in Montreal. She was born in France and spent much of her early life in France. Her father met her mother in Canada while he was studying engineering. Her mother was raised speaking English so spoke English as their children grew up. Sarah and her brother and sisters are bilingual. David is working on his master's degree in North Carolina. They couldn't go to Mexico with us because Sarah can't leave the United States until she becomes a citizen.

This part of our family went to Mexico on a bus December 27 and returned December 29. There were at least four couples who were with us in Mesa but could not go to Mexico because of work or other reasons. We had most of our children, a number of grandchildren and some great grandchildren participate. This made our 2007 Christmas one that we will always remember. When I was teaching Spanish in Brigham City, Utah, I used to take my students to Mexico. Our children got to go if there were empty seats on the bus. They wanted to repeat that experience with their own children so we planned this trip.
