On September 21, 2006, Bernice and I went with Carol and David Holcomb to see some of what happened when Mount St Helens erupted on May 18, 1980. This is a picture showing that there was a fall-out of six to eight feet of ash many miles below the mountain. We saw the mountain about eleven years ago and saw thousands of dead trees. Now, with careful replanting, the mountain sides are once again green with trees. Posted by Picasa

On September 11, 2006, we, Bernice & VerNon Bingham, were on a cruise coming from Whittier, Alaska, to Vancuver, British Colombia. We left on Saturday September 9. The third day out we were in Glacier Bay and got very close to this beautiful glacier. Bernice was facinated by the bue color at the top of the glacier. We did manage to get a short video of some calving. We will try to locate it for another blog entree. Posted by Picasa

There are a lot of eagles in Alaska. They pair up and build a nest which they use year after year. This a picture of a nest in the museum in Juneau, Alaska. Posted by Picasa

George and Diane Welch are wonderful people. Here they are in front of their garden which will provide much food for many widows and poor people this summer. George and Diane served two missions in Alaska. We will meet some of their friends during our cruise in September. Posted by Picasa

This is Sarah's family. They come from France, China, Cambodia, El Salvador and of course, Canada. Gino and Carrie Sacuto are standing at the left. They are all wonderful people. We think David is very lucky. They standing behind the Montreal, Canada Temple. Posted by Picasa
