Fifty-six
These fifty-six years
Filled with Smiles and tears
The smiles were many
And tears hardly any;
No one could have guessed
We would be so blessed.
Life has been replete
With family real sweet.
We have friends galore;
And still finding more.
We’ve stayed together
In spite of weather.
Though life still moves fast
Our love seems to last.
I love you today
More than I can say.
It is plain to see.
You also love me.
Today what we do
Is all up to you.
Anniversaries
Are adversities
In case one should fail
To choose the right trail.
Ours is a pleasure.
We count our treasure.

Back in 1947 while I was on my first mission in El Paso, Texas, I felt the need to have a missionary picture. When I asked how much it would cost, they said it would be $2.50 for the way I really looked; $3.50 for the way they thought I wanted to look and $5.00 for the way I wanted to look. I figured I would do better taking the $5.00 ones. Here it is for what it's worth.

Last spring, Bernice's brother Dale Powell and his wife, Beth, moved from Yuma & Utah to Mesa. Their youngest brother, Gene, helped them move. Here we are trimming one of the shrubs in the back of their home. They just recently moved from here to another home in the same area. We will take a picture of their new home and include it at another time.

Here is a view of Lee and Linda's new building site in Eagle River, Alaska. We were visiting them in July and walked up to see where they are going to build. Bernice, Greg, Eliana, Carolee, Lee, Linda and VerNon. Gene Powell took the picture. He is Bernice's youngest brother. We will show him in another picture.
