Here Debra is in her new kitchen. They think there is a lot of wasted space because it is so much bigger than they had in New York. They have a sun room off of the kitchen and their view is just like the one from their deck. We are about ready to enjoy a dinner with a tasty piece of ham. This is in Belmont, Californica. Posted by Picasa

This is a view of the garden at the front of Debra and Kent's home in Belmont. They have a nine foot redwood pine tree that will be planted in the upper corne of the garden. That was what Debra wanted for Christmas. Debra has always enjoyed flowers. This will give her some opportunity for creativity. Posted by Picasa

This is the view from the deck of Debra and Kent's home in Belmont. In the distance it is possible to see the Bay and surrounding area. There is a lot of evidence that the deer enjoy coming through here. It is really like living in the mountains. Posted by Picasa

We are spending the week in Belmont, California, with Debra and Kent. Bernice wanted nothing else for Christmas except a visit here to see how these New York transpants are surviving the change. They do live in a very beautiful part of California. They have done a lot of remodeling so that the home they bought truly reflects their personalities. Entertaining has always been important to them so they have removed walls and haved expanded the living room so that with a large sliding door in Debra's office, there is a lot of room in a small home. They live in the mountains as they have always wanted to live. The trees are old and have unique personalities. They don't own a lot of land but the neighbors don't block their view so it seems like they have a large back yard. They can see the bay from their deck which makes it a beautiful view on a sunny day. We will include some pictures to give everyone a better perspective.

Here we are at Thanksgiving time in Mesa. It is easy to see that we are getting older. The shirt I have on is not Bernice's favorite but it is so comfortable to wear that I can't resist. Posted by Picasa

We were on a cruise to Panama in April 2006. This was one of our formal nights so we took some pictures. We were with Pulsiphers, Romneys, Ron & Lee Bingham, Alan and Sharon Bingham and friends of theirs from the Boise area. Posted by Picasa

Bernice is seen here with Colleen Sands and the Sands' four special children. We claim them as additional grandchildren. This picture was taken in Zion's Park. We thought it was a unique picture because of the cloud sitting on the mountain in the background. Posted by Picasa

We thought the mountain in the background had some interesting characteristics. We were camped not far from the entrance to Zion's Park. Glen Sands and his family met us there the next day and we went to the park together. Posted by Picasa

Here we are in Zion's Park on May 20. This is before we started the bus tour of the park that ended with Bernice spraining one ankle seriously and breaking a bone in her other leg near her foot. She was unable to get around very well until the middle of July but is doing well now. Posted by Picasa

A beautiful glacier found in College Fjiords between Whittier, Alaska, and Skagway. This is Bernice's favorite. Posted by Picasa

This is Bernice's favorite glacier located in College Fjiords seen while cruising between Whittier, Alaska, and Skagway. When the sun is shining the upper part is very blue. We actually have a short video of this glacier calving. We past by here in September 2006. Posted by Picasa

This is the west side of the Precious Moments chapel near Calgary, MO. There are another two or three sections of paintings like these depicting episodes from the New Testament. The same thing is done on the east side of the chapel for the Old Testiment. I should have taken the time to take a picture of each section. I didn't realize how well they would turn out. Posted by Picasa

This is a mural in the Precious Moments chapel which is located on the outskirts of Calgary, MO. It covers the front part of the chapel and was done by Samuel J. Butcher who has become a beloved artist. All of the walls of the chapel depict religious themes. One side of the chapel is dedicated to the New Testament and the other is dedicated to the Old Testament. This is becoming a real tourist attraction. We were there with a group of forty-six people from Mesa, Arizona and surrounding areas on November 28, 2006.
