During our visit to Tasmania where my father served as a missionary, Sister Lindy Prebble met at the ship dock and took us to church with her in Hobart. After the meetings she fed us lunch and then took us about thirty miles south to Glen Huon where the first missionaries served. Sister Prebble gave us a book about the history of the mission in Tasmania. My father, Jeddie Bingham's name was on the tithing records. The full time missionaries sometimes worked to supplement the money they received from home. They chopped wood or picked apples to earn extra money.
This picture was taken in front of the chapel in Glen Huon. Bernice took the picture of me, the current bishop, Sister Prebble, Alan and Sharon. This happened on March 4, 2007, during our cruise from Australia to New Zealand. It was wonderful to walk on the same ground where my father served his mission ninety years earlier, in 1914.
